Unveiling Islam Class 3: What do the Quran and the Bible say about Mary and Jesus?
In this lecture, we will walk through how the Qur’an and the Bible speak about Jesus and Mary, placing key Qur’anic passages alongside core Christian claims. We will explore Mary’s lineage and holiness in Islam, the Virgin Birth, Jesus as a prophet and the Sign of the Hour, and the Islamic denial of crucifixion and the divinity of Jesus. Then we will turn to Christian teaching on Jesus as the Son of God and Savior, Mary as Theotokos, and how Catholics, Orthodox, Protestants, and Anglicans differ on doctrines like the Immaculate Conception, Perpetual Virginity, and the Communion of Saints. Along the way, you will hear how St. Augustine thought about concupiscence and original sin and how these beliefs shape worship, devotion, and discipleship today.
